Historic Paintings of Andrew Doria in Action

Two paintings on display in museums show Andrew Doria:

Entering the harbor at St. Eustatius ready to fire her cannons and to receive the First Salute recognition of United States sovereignty by a foreign power.

First Salute with Andrew Doria by Brian Littlewood and Melville Phillips

HMS Racehorse vs. Andrew Doria and Andrew Doria and Marines at Nassau Stephen Johnson Line Drawing

These two paintings also on display in maritime museums show naval actions executed by Andrew Doria - capturing the HMS Racehorse and working with Continental marines at Nassau.

The re-created Andrew Doria will educate the world about its role in the early history of the USA during the early stages of the Revolutionary War and will also participate in the annual celebration of the First Salute on the Island of St. Eustatius on November 16. Your donations can help make this happen.
